"Our child loves coming to church and the people here love him back."

CHILDREN AND YOUTH

We take pride in supporting our children's discovery of their own spiritual lives. Our program is divided into four developmentally appropriate groups.

Summer Break

During Summer break, Godly Play and WOW are not in session. Children in these age groups are invited to join one another for group activities led by Children’s Ministry staff.

Babies and Toddlers

We provide safe, loving nursery care with an age-appropriate introduction to faith. Parents are welcome to spend as much time as they like with their children in the nursery. Join us in the nursery from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each Sunday.

3 Years to Kindergarten

These young members of the congregation join their parents in the pews at the beginning of each Sunday service before attending Godly Play, an innovative way to form faith in small children. This curriculum introduces basic religious language and helps kids explore faith through stories and playtime. Parents are welcome to sit in and see what Godly Play is all about.

You can dive deeper into this faith development curriculum at the Godly Play website: www.godlyplay.org

Thursday's Granny Nannies

These volunteers will keep a grandmotherly eye on your young children from 10 a.m. to Noon Thursdays during the school year while you take time for yourself. Meet the Granny Nannies in the nursery. Lead Nanny is retired teacher Judy Hannigan.

Elementary School

Children from the first through fifth grades participate in WOW! Worship Our Way. They explore the lesson of the day with play and activities involving art, craft and science. Parents can visit and appreciate the sacred text and faith traditions from a different perspective.

Middle and High School

Middle and High School youth gather at First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday evenings during the school year for the Corvallis Youth Collective, a faith-based cooperative with youth from different local congregations. The CYC provides a safe, inclusive environment that allows youth to develop their sense of faith and community with one another.

Middle School meets at 5:30 p.m.; High School joins them at 6:30 p.m. for a joint dinner; High School group meeting starts at 7 p.m.  Fore more information, check out the CYC's Facebook page.
