OUR PASTOR:
REV. JENNIFER L. BUTLER
The Reverend Jennifer L. Butler is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. Her Divinity work was completed at Portland Seminary (with roots in the Quaker tradition). While an adjunct professor at Portland Seminary, she studied and taught in the field of ecotheology and co-authored a book on the topic: Introducing Evangelical Ecotheology.
Jen is a fellow of GreenFaith, Parker Palmer's Center for Courage and Renewal, and the United Church of Christ's Grassroots Organizing cohort. She sits on the board of Unity Shelter (US) and founded the transitional housing program (SafePlace) that US currently operates. Since 2022, she has participated in Krista Tippett’s OnBeing Social Healing project and works nationally with the United Church of Christ's Just Peace Initiative.
Jen explores faith and religious practice as revolutionary acts of courage and restoration in a chronically dis-eased world.
You can schedule an appointment to meet with her here.
